Drive a NASCAR - Dover International Speedway

It was absolutely awesome. I only wish I could have gone faster. I think the rev-limiter was set too low, but I know the guides need to err on the side of safety for all involved. Overall, it was very enjoyable and I would definitely do it again.

Overall it was a fantastic experience. Great weather, great track, authentic actual stock cars, etc. Just some coaching for the staff at the track: 1. I drove, so they should not spend just 5/10 minutes verbally describing the line the driver must follow (for legitimate safety reasons, of course) but they should show it on a track diagram and, if possible, a video sample of a roll-out and blend-in from driver's vantage. Simply telling the driver to "in the corners, drive 5' up from the black line" just isn't clear enough: do you mean 5' from the black apron or 5' from the concrete seam? 2. driver must be very familiar with (listening, responding) in-car radio while driving at speed. The pit crew didn't verify with me that my car's transmitter or PTT switch was working before I pulled out, so the spotter was SCREAMING at me to 'copy' several times before the pit crew waved at me while passing by at > 100 mph. A little disconcerting for a new NASCAR driver. 3. The spotter thought that if he increasingly screamed into his microphone that I'm somehow hear his instructions better in my helmet. I pulled over and explained to the crew chief that I couldn't understand a word from the spotter over his yelling and distorting his incoming audio (see radio problem above.) They finally changed my helmet, verified before roll-out (this time) that my radio was finally working, and changed to a much calmer and more helpful spotter - making the end of my experience much more rewarding. Overall if you opt to drive, be prepared that you'll have to learn a lot on your own, not from the track team.

Overall experience was good, what they do not tell you: 1. Cars are regulated to 125 mph. 2. Cars have no AC so Aug afternoon in Dover is hot. 3. Safety brief lasts about an hour. 4. The time it takes to ride around the apron before you are allowed to enter the track is a slow pace and counts towards your purchased time.... That means getting on and off of track... About 1:30 minutes each time, so if you purchase 5 minutes you only get 2 minutes on actual track driving "fast." 5. GoPro option at track waste of money. No sound and it's only positioned to face toward track and no other camera angles. Bottom line, fun to do once but expensive and not as awesome as you would expect.

When I arrived 45 minutes early as per instructions the signs directing me were terrible so I asked several employees where to go and got different directions every time. Some people knew what the process would be and others had no clue. So a lot of waking g back and forth. That was very frustrating. Some people were very helpful and nice and others were just rude. The ride along was awesome. When I drove the car I could not see the tachometer as the steering wheel blocked my view. I told the guy who put me in the car and he said nothing could be done. As you know it is important to see the tachometer and was a pain in the ass not seeing it and trying to run it up to the chip by feel. Also I felt like the car tachometer was set too low at I think 5000 rpm’s.

Had issues shifting gears, so only went one lap,came in,ended up with ride along for two laps getting sick,that ended the experience, felt a little short changed,people were very friendly, but didn't get complete experience that was paid for. Why in the hell do you advertise as you can go speeds upwards of 160mph+ but you lock the car at a certain speed unless you pay more. Already paying x amount of money for nothing. Complete rip off.

I had fun driving. However, I purchased additional time above what my company awarded me because I used to love NASCAR and racing in general. I purchased the in car video so I could relive my experience and share with friends. When I got home and viewed the video they gave me there was not one lap of my 3 X 8 minute sessions. I can't begin to express my disappointment. I haven't missed a NASCAR race I could watch live for many years. I currently have no desire to watch any type of racing for that matter. I've spent the last two days trying to find a way to get my money back on at least what I paid for the video without success. I understand it was not Cloud 9 involvement in my disappointment, but I still can not recommend spending this kind of money to be overall disappointed in the experience.
